all season rider...

during our last snow Tanner was outside playing...we thought it would be a great opportunity for him to try his new skis, but Tanner had other plans. He went straight for his strider and was riding in the snow down our front yard...again and again and again. Could it be we have a biker on our hands?!?!

we busted it out and everyone had fun...well, fun for a few minutes, and then it was overwhelming. Its neat to see Kaya growing up and getting into new things...and even more so seeing Tanner helping show Kaya the ropes.

Santa brought Kaya her very own seat at our table. While it will be a bit before it gets any real use...it was fun to plop her in there for a little preview.

here is each of the kids at 17 weeks...the funny part is how much they can look different, but from certain angles, outfits and expressions look exactly the same!

Tanner's Birthday Party Highlights

He is three. CRAZY. We had a really nice time celebrating his birthday. Tanner woke to find a new bike with pedals. woo hoo. A few friends come over, we did some crafts, played some games, ate some pizza and devoured a cake (thanks to joni for helping make it). Then Tanner didn't nap, we did it again in the evening (entertain that is), he fell asleep while watching Little Einsteins (fitting for our party theme) on a laptop in his room while we all celebrated a new year! Happy Birthday Tanner...and Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!

14 weeks...

Inspired by a conversation with my friends Cathy and Sean (Cayton Photography) I wanted to play around a bit. A little time with Kaya while Tanner napped was the perfect way to try a few things and capture Kaya in all her 14 week glory. Here is my drooling little girl...determined, as always, to get her hands into her mouth.

Kaya Rolls....

The first few times she did it two weeks ago I thought it was an accident. However, since then she has certainly sorted out how to get off her belly and seems quite pleased while she is doing it!

The zoo with friends...

We enjoyed a wonderful snowy Saturday at the zoo with friends last weekend. Tanner and his buddy had a great time running around, being crazy. They fed the giraffes and the budgie buddies, and worked hard to spot the leopard.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a nice quiet weekend at home...and I got to play with my new camera. Can there be anything better?

Her new cow

Kaya received this cow blanket/toy while in VA...and to my surprise, when I put it near her, she went after it. She managed to suck on its ear and jam the corners in her mouth. Way to go Kaya!

Fall in VA

Helping Opa rake leaves quickly deteriorated...but Tanner had a blast in the big pile of leaves and soon dragged everyone else into the pile as well.

Cute Overload

I heard Tanner over with Kaya and turned around to make sure he wasn't being too rough and saw this instead. I grabbed my camera and moved in closer, boy am I glad I did. The two of them were to cute...its especially cute if I pretend Tanner's game had nothing to do with the elephant trunk shooting water up Kaya's nose!

She fell asleep

on my chest and I put her down on the sofa for a minute and could not resist grabbing a photo of her all curled up.

Pumpkins

This past weekend we headed to Happy Apple Orchards to pick out some pumpkins. Tanner had a blast running around the pumpkin patch and as always the tractor ride was a big hit!
